White Flakey Backdrop

Pam Georges spent her childhood summers visiting her YiaYia in the small Greek village of Arfara.  YiaYia watered her plants every morning as the sun came up and Pam still recalls the fragrance of sweet olive wafting up to the balcony where she slept.  Every home had a garden, every village a florist.

Pam would love to tell you that on those early Greek mornings she dreamed

of owning Pamela Dennis Designs, the florist shop named for herself and her

father, Pam’s greatest inspiration. But it would be many years of creativity, life lessons in business ownership and lots and lots of flowers before the day arrived.

Pamela Dennis Designs opened its doors in The Rink, an historic restoration in the center of New Orleans’ Garden District, September of 2023.  Prior to that, the business operated like magic. Exceptional arrangements, wedding bouquets, floral wreaths and chuppahs appeared at events across Louisiana, just for those in the know.

Pamela Dennis Designs offers a broad array of floral services, covering all seasonal and all event needs. “Flowers come in all colors, and we love working with them all” says Pam Georges. Pam comes from a family of creatives as both her grandmothers were artists.

She began her career in fashion retail as a partner in Benetton New Orleans and quickly realized she loved working with color. She soon transitioned from fabrics to florals working at Flowers Unlimited, where a lesson in bow making revealed a natural talent for floral design.  Pam opened Uptown Flowers in 1995 with her high school friend Leslie Massony. Designing flowers for all types of events, Uptown Flowers became the go to and trusted florist in New Orleans. Whether a daily commercial or home delivered floral arrangement, debutante party and or wedding, Pam enjoyed working with clients and most of all loved their reaction when the job was done. The shop thrived for many years, closing shortly after Hurricane Katrina.

Pam took some time off to raise a family and renovate three homes, and always found herself spending much of her time working in her garden. She never lost her love for designing flowers.

During her hiatus she shared her creative spirit with her family and friends, as many still pleaded for her help as holidays rolled around or special occasions came up. Pam also taught her kids the value of hard work she learned from her father, who believed in owning your own business and taking great pride in that work. Dennis Georges taught her a workday was not 9 to 5, but 5 to 9.

Under the new name Pamela Dennis Designs, Pam has returned to the floral business teaming up once again with Leslie Massony. They look forward to creating your next floral experience.
